Comparison

Akiem Hicks Chicago Bears

Naturally thick build from top to bottom with long arms and a stout base. Cut a significant amount of bad weight prior to his senior season which paid dividends on the field. Plays both defensive tackle and end for his high school team, but projects inside at the next level. Shows high level initial burst and first-step quickness, often darting into the backfield at the snap. Blows up plays behind the line at a high rate. Supplements his first step with an effective swim move. Equally effective as a pass rusher and in defending the run. Can shed double teams once engaged. Has immense potential should he stay at his current trajectory and continue making physical improvements. Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside of developing into an early round draft selection.
