Andrew Ivins
Andrew Ivins Southeast Recruiting Analyst

A young, promising offensive line prospect that checks off a lot of the right boxes as he’s powerful in the upper half and a natural knee bender. Measured a hair over 6-foot-5, 300 pounds back in January of 2022. Started at right tackle as a sophomore for a Madison-Ridgeland Academy squad that won a Mississippi 6A state title before transferring into the national powerhouse that is IMG Academy for his junior season. Continued to work on the right side once with the Ascenders and drew an extremely difficult assignment in his first start as he was matched up with blue-chip pass rusher Damon Wilson. Had his moments against the Georgia signee, but struggled at times with the sack artist’s speed, which isn’t surprising as he is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. Will need to continue to refine technique (especially when it comes to pass sets), but the ability to get to the second level and move freely in the trenches is encouraging. Should get more nasty at the point of attack as he adds strength and should eventually be able to carry 325 pounds or more. Projects more as an interior player at the next level with his reach, but is athletic enough to double as a swing tackle. Overall, should be viewed as a potential multi-year starter up front for a Power Five program.
